Alhaz Abdul Mazid established “The North Bengal Silk Printing factory” in 1979. Abdul Mazid was one of the people who completed the sericulture & vegetable color course from the Bangladesh Sericulture Development Board. He achieved an excellent opportunity for a higher degree abroad. But, he build-up a silk factory at Rajshahi BSCIC to implement his dream of increasing & developing the demand for native clothing. After his passing(2003), his elder son Mostahid Ul Islam continue his business. Unfortunately, the factory has been shut-down in 2013 for critical reasons. And currently(2021), Sharmin Alam(Daughter-in-law of Late Abdul Mazid) working to fulfill his vision through the group "North Bengal Rajshahi Silk".
